Skydance Paramount Will Eliminate Around 2,000 American Positions – Report
Skydance Paramount plans to begin significant workforce reductions the week of 27 October, removing nearly 2,000 US jobs as part of a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn led by top executive David Ellison.
The layoffs are a result of the merger of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed in August valued at $8.4bn.
Further global layoffs are anticipated, as the firm aiming to reveal all specifics via its third-quarter financial update on 10 November.
Earlier reports suggested that Paramount aimed to eliminate from 2,000 and 3,000 positions before the start of November.
Until December 2024, the company retained nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 temporary project employees.
The company has not yet commented regarding the report.
